Australia vs Bangladesh 1st ODI Live on FanCode Today at 10:30 AM IST in Dhaka

Australia faces Bangladesh in Dhaka without Marsh, Head, and key pacers today.

Australia will begin their white-ball tour of Bangladesh with the opening One-Day International on June 9, marking their first ODI series in the country since 2011. The three-match ODI series will be followed by a T20I leg, with both teams looking to build momentum ahead of upcoming international assignments. The opening match will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, a venue that has historically provided competitive conditions for both batters and bowlers.

The visiting side enters the series after suffering an ODI series defeat against Pakistan and will be without several senior players. Regular captain Mitch Marsh remains unavailable as he continues recovering from an ankle injury, while opening batter Travis Head has been granted personal leave for the entire Bangladesh tour. Australia will also be without pace spearheads Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc, prompting selectors to rely on a younger and less experienced squad.

National selector Tony Dodemaide said the management had hoped Marsh would recover in time for the ODI series but decided not to rush his return. He confirmed that Marsh would join the squad in Dhaka to continue preparations for the subsequent T20I matches. Head, meanwhile, is expected to return later in the season as Australia prepares for its upcoming Test commitments.

Bangladesh enters the series with confidence after winning its last three bilateral ODI series against the West Indies, Pakistan, and New Zealand on home soil. Led by captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the hosts will once again rely on experienced performers, including Litton Das, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Nahid Rana. Familiar conditions in Dhaka are expected to provide Bangladesh with an additional advantage against the visiting side.

Despite missing several established stars, Australia retains a number of experienced international players in its squad. Josh Inglis will captain the side, which also includes Cameron Green, Marnus Labuschagne, Adam Zampa, Alex Carey, and Matt Short. The series is expected to provide valuable opportunities for emerging players to gain international experience and stake their claim for regular selection.

The first ODI is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. IST on June 9 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Indian viewers will not have access to a television broadcast of the match, but live streaming will be available through the FanCode website and mobile application. Australia has historically dominated the ODI rivalry, winning 20 of the 21 completed men's One-Day Internationals played against Bangladesh, but the hosts will be aiming to challenge that record on home turf.
