Former India spinner R Ashwin has urged caution over fast-tracking teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi into the national team, even as reports suggest major selection decisions are imminent ahead of India’s upcoming T20I assignments and multi-event commitments. According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to announce the national squad on Saturday for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, along with selections related to the Asian Games.
The announcement is expected to draw significant attention due to possible leadership changes and the emergence of young talent. One of the key talking points ahead of the selection is Suryakumar Yadav, who is reportedly under scrutiny due to a dip in batting form.
