Vijay Accuses DMK Of Obstructing TVK Campaigns In Tamil Nadu Polls
Vijay alleges DMK obstructing TVK campaign activities during Tamil Nadu election race.
Actor-turned-politician Vijay on Saturday accused the ruling DMK Government of using official machinery to obstruct campaign activities of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), as election campaigning intensifies in Tamil Nadu ahead of the Assembly polls.
Vijay alleged that permissions for public meetings and outreach programmes were being deliberately delayed, restricted, or cancelled at the last minute, affecting both his own campaign schedule and those of TVK candidates across multiple constituencies. He claimed these actions were aimed at weakening what he described as the party’s growing momentum on the ground.
The TVK Chief cited recent instances, including the cancellation of a scheduled campaign event in Cuddalore and the suspension of a door-to-door outreach programme in Perambur due to alleged lack of administrative approvals. He said such developments reflected a broader pattern intended to limit the party’s visibility among voters and disrupt its electoral outreach.

In a sharp attack on the ruling party, Vijay accused the DMK government of “unchecked misrule and corruption” and alleged that it was making “limitless false promises” to mislead the public. He also compared the DMK to a “limited company,” asserting that voters would “limit them and send them home” in the upcoming election.
The TVK leader further alleged that sections of the media were circulating “fabricated reports” regarding permissions for his party’s campaign activities, claiming that such narratives were being used to undermine TVK’s credibility and public reach. He urged voters to remain cautious and critically evaluate political developments during the campaign period.
Invoking Tamil Nadu’s legacy of social reformers, Vijay referenced leaders such as E.V. Ramasamy, K. Kamaraj, and C.N. Annadurai, stating that the state’s deep-rooted values of social justice and secularism would prevent “anti-people forces” from gaining influence. He positioned TVK as part of a broader political movement aligned with those ideals.
Despite the alleged administrative hurdles, Vijay expressed confidence that a strong grassroots wave was building in favour of TVK across the state. He said the party would overcome current challenges, win the election, and “create history,” as the political contest in Tamil Nadu enters a more heated phase.
