Union Minister to Lead WCD Zonal Meet in Kevadia

Six states discuss welfare schemes, tech innovations.

Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi will chair a zonal meeting in Kevadia, Gujarat, on Saturday to enhance Centre-state coordination and strengthen grassroots delivery of welfare programs. The event will convene ministers and officials from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu to foster dialogue and collaboration.

Joined by Minister of State Savitri Thakur and Gujarat’s WCD Minister Bhanuben Babariya, the meeting will focus on advancing Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, and Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. Discussions will cover digital tools like the Poshan Tracker, Face Recognition Systems, and strategies for tech-enabled service delivery. States will share innovative models and best practices for cross-learning and replication.

Delegates will participate in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive, visit the Children’s Nutrition Park and Statue of Unity, and attend the Narmada Aarti and light-and-sound show, blending policy discussions with cultural engagement.
