TVK Leader Vijay Conducts Campaign At Three Puducherry Locations Ahead Of April 9 Poll
TVK leader Vijay campaigns across three Puducherry locations ahead of April 9 Assembly elections.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay is campaigning across Puducherry on Saturday as the Union Territory prepares for Assembly elections scheduled on April 9. His appearances mark one of the final high-profile efforts by regional leaders to mobilise voters and energise party cadres in the run-up to polling day.
TVK’s campaign comes amid intense political activity in Puducherry, where all 30 Assembly constituencies are set to go to the polls. Counting of votes will take place on May 4. A total of 294 candidates are contesting, touring constituencies, and interacting with voters in a last-minute push to consolidate support, as prominent regional leaders step up their outreach ahead of the elections.
According to the party’s General Secretary, N. Anand, Vijay’s campaign events on Saturday have received permission from the Election Commission to be held at three locations. The schedule includes rallies at Thattanchavadi Market Committee area from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., near Cuddalore Road Mall from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and concluding at Thavalakuppam Junction from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The party has ensured that essential arrangements, such as drinking water and medical facilities, are in place for smooth conduct of the events. Strict guidelines issued by the Election Commission will be observed, including prohibiting vehicles, including two-wheelers, from following the campaign convoy and capping attendance at 5,000 participants per location.
Vijay’s team has issued a public advisory urging vulnerable groups—such as pregnant women, children, school students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities—to avoid attending in person. Instead, they are encouraged to view the campaign events through live television broadcasts and social media platforms, ensuring safety while maintaining voter engagement.
As the final days of the campaign unfold, Puducherry’s political environment has grown increasingly charged, with leaders like Vijay playing a pivotal role in galvanising support and influencing voter sentiment in the closing stretch of the electoral race.
