PM Modi Praises Delhi CM Rekha Gupta on Her 51st Birthday
Modi commends Gupta’s rise and welfare initiatives as she becomes BJP’s only woman Chief Minister.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday wishes to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on her 51st birthday, lauding her ascent through the ranks and her contributions to the capital’s welfare. In a post on X, Modi wrote, “Rising through the ranks, she has always remained active in serving Delhi. As Chief Minister, she has undertaken numerous initiatives for the city’s welfare. May she be blessed with a long and healthy life.”
Gupta, a first-time MLA, was appointed Delhi’s Chief Minister in February 2025, marking the BJP’s return to power after 24 years. As the only woman Chief Minister from the BJP and one of two in India alongside West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee, Gupta has spearheaded urban development and public welfare programs in Delhi.
