Chaos at Modi’s Bihar Rally: Black Flags Raised, Protesters Detained in Bold Defiance!

Three detained for waving black flags at PM Modi’s Bihar rally over unfulfilled promises.

A stunning act of protest rocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Motihari, Bihar, on July 18, as three locals—Jitendra Tiwari, Vikrant Gautam, and Ravikant Ravi—were detained for waving black flags at Gandhi Maidan. The dramatic scene unfolded during Modi’s launch of development projects worth over ₹7,200 crore, spotlighting growing frustration over unfulfilled promises in East Champaran.

DIG Harkishore Rai confirmed the trio is under interrogation, with further action pending the investigation’s outcome. SP Swarn Prabhat revealed the protesters aimed to highlight the region’s struggling sugar industry, a sore point since Modi’s 2014 pledge to revive Motihari’s sugar mills. Videos circulating in the media captured the trio clinging to a pole, waving black flags, with reports of damaged chairs—though police have yet to confirm the latter.

Opposition parties pounced on the incident, amplifying videos on social media to slam Modi’s “hollow promises.” RJD’s Manoj Jha, speaking in Patna, branded the rally an “empty bundle,” recalling Modi’s unfulfilled vow to enjoy tea sweetened by local sugar. Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar mocked Modi’s grand promises of turning Motihari into Mumbai and Patna into Pune, questioning the fate of similar claims for Varanasi’s transformation.
