Nitin Nabin Charts Bengal Roadmap: BJP to Hammer TMC's 15-Year Governance Record
Nitin Nabin sets Bengal roadmap targeting TMC's 15-year rule and state's low per capita income.
Newly appointed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin has moved swiftly to assert his leadership, convening his first major organisational meeting with party leaders and election-focused workers from West Bengal to lay out a comprehensive strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections.
According to party sources, the closed-door meeting was sharply focused on what the BJP describes as governance failures under the Trinamool Congress (TMC), which has been in power in the state for the past 15 years. Nabin reportedly urged party cadres to adopt a constituency-wise campaign approach, tailoring local issues into a broader narrative aimed at challenging Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s record.
Economic distress in the state emerged as a central theme during the discussions. Senior BJP leaders highlighted that despite West Bengal being endowed with significant natural resources and a large, skilled workforce, its per capita income continues to rank among the lowest in the country. The party plans to use this data-driven argument to question the effectiveness of the Trinamool government’s economic policies.

Issues related to unemployment, industrial stagnation, migration of youth to other states, and alleged corruption were also flagged as key talking points for the campaign. Leaders stressed the need to connect these concerns directly to everyday voters, particularly in semi-urban and rural constituencies where economic pressures have intensified.
Nabin is also understood to have emphasised organisational discipline and booth-level mobilisation, calling on party workers to strengthen grassroots networks well ahead of the polls. The focus, sources said, will be on voter outreach, local leadership development, and sustained engagement rather than short-term political messaging.
With the Assembly elections approaching, the BJP appears keen to reposition itself as a viable alternative in West Bengal. Nitin Nabin’s early intervention signals an aggressive push to consolidate the party’s base and mount a determined challenge to the Trinamool Congress’s long-standing dominance in the state.
