Nitin Nabin assumes charge as new BJP President with temple visits, PM Modi's presence, and praise for party leaders.
Nitin Nabin formally took charge as the new National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, marking his first day in office with a series of symbolic and organisational engagements. Replacing outgoing president JP Nadda, Nabin was elected unopposed and assumed office at the party headquarters in New Delhi in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders.
The day began with a series of religious visits, underscoring the party’s cultural outreach. Ahead of assuming charge, Nabin offered prayers at the Jhandewalan Mandir, Balmiki Mandir, Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, and the Hanuman Mandir in the national capital. These visits were seen as a gesture of inclusivity and reverence before taking on the party’s top organisational role.
Around 11 a.m., Nabin arrived at the BJP headquarters, where he was joined by PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, and outgoing BJP chief JP Nadda. After addressing party leaders and workers from across the country, he officially assumed charge as the BJP’s new national president.
