Nitin Nabin Begins Strategic West Bengal Visit Ahead Of Assembly Elections
BJP chief Nitin Nabin visits West Bengal for two days to strengthen election strategy ahead of Assembly polls.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national president, Nitin Nabin, is set to begin a two-day visit to West Bengal on March 24, aimed at strengthening the party’s organisational machinery ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. This marks Nabin’s first trip to the state since the election announcement, highlighting the central leadership’s strategic focus on West Bengal, a key political battleground.
During his stay, Nabin is scheduled to meet senior state leaders, campaign coordinators, and core committee members in Kolkata. The discussions are expected to focus on consolidating booth-level organisation, improving coordination between the central and state leadership, and refining communication strategies to effectively reach voters across the state.
Party insiders describe the visit as part of a broader effort to energise grassroots workers and address gaps identified in previous electoral performances. A senior BJP leader from West Bengal noted that the primary objective of these meetings is to prepare for the forthcoming two-phase Assembly elections scheduled next month, ensuring that the party’s campaign machinery is fully operational.

In parallel, the BJP is preparing to release its election manifesto, or “Sankalp Patra,” later this week, with the formal launch expected on March 28. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to be present at a major public event for the unveiling. The state committee plans to finalise the contents of the manifesto in consultation with Nitin Nabin during his two-day visit.
Meanwhile, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has already released its manifesto on March 20, outlining a 10-point development agenda for the state. The CPI(M)-led Left Front and the Congress have yet to announce their respective manifestos.
Nitin Nabin’s visit signals a concerted effort by the BJP to reinforce its organisational strength and voter outreach ahead of what is expected to be a closely contested election in West Bengal, reflecting the party’s determination to expand its influence in the state.
