NEET-UG Aspirants Get 50% Bus Concession In UP For June 21 Exam

Uttar Pradesh offers 50% bus fare concession for NEET aspirants on June 21.

In a student-friendly move ahead of the NEET-UG examination scheduled for June 21, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a 50 percent concession in bus fares for candidates travelling by Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) services. The decision comes as part of the state government’s arrangements to facilitate smooth travel for lakhs of aspirants appearing in one of India’s largest entrance examinations.

According to officials, the concession will be applicable to all NEET candidates travelling on UPSRTC buses upon showing their admit cards. The initiative is aimed at reducing the financial burden on students who may need to travel long distances, often across districts, to reach their designated examination centres on time.

Chief Minister Adityanath also directed authorities to ensure that adequate temporary accommodation facilities are arranged for candidates who are required to travel to other districts for the exam. The move is intended to support students arriving a day in advance or those facing logistical challenges due to distance and travel constraints.

The state government stated that nearly 3.5 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the NEET examination across 59 districts in Uttar Pradesh. In view of the large-scale participation, officials have been instructed to strengthen transport arrangements, security measures, and coordination between departments to ensure a smooth and incident-free examination process.

During a review meeting in Lucknow, the Chief Minister assessed the overall law and order situation in the state along with preparations for NEET-UG and upcoming festivals. He emphasised the need for strict monitoring and efficient execution of arrangements to avoid any disruption for students on examination day.

Authorities have been asked to maintain coordination between transport, district administration, and examination officials to ensure timely movement of candidates. With these measures in place, the government aims to provide logistical support and ease travel-related difficulties for aspirants appearing in the highly competitive entrance test.
