NDA Backs PM Modi's Action Plan On NEET Paper Leak Crisis
NDA supports government's response to NEET paper leak issue.
Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Tuesday backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement on the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, asserting that the government stands with the country’s youth and will take strict action against those responsible for examination irregularities. The remarks came amid continued opposition criticism over the handling of student protests and demands for accountability.
Addressing the NDA’s ‘Mangal Milan’ programme, Prime Minister Modi said the issue of paper leaks was not limited to any single state or the central government but was a concern for the entire country. He said the government had taken swift action in the matter, with 13 people arrested so far in connection with the alleged irregularities.
Union Minister and Republican Party of India (A) chief Ramdas Athawale supported the Prime Minister’s remarks, saying students had suffered due to the incident and those responsible should face strict punishment. He added that preventing such incidents was a shared responsibility of both central and state governments and their administrative systems.

NCP MP Praful Patel said the Prime Minister had highlighted the importance of India’s youth and the need to protect their future. He stressed that incidents like the NEET controversy should not happen again and called for measures to ensure fairness and transparency in examinations.
BJP MP Ravi Kishan also supported the government’s position, saying strong legal action should be taken against all individuals involved in paper leaks. He said the involvement of the country’s best legal experts would help ensure that those responsible receive strict punishment and discourage similar crimes in the future.
However, AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the government’s response, raising concerns about students who lost opportunities or faced hardships due to the controversy. The political debate comes after student groups attempted to march towards Parliament demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations linked to the NEET-UG paper leak.
