Ministers From Vijay’s Team To Take Oath In Tamil Nadu Government

C Joseph Vijay is set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu along with a newly formed nine-member cabinet, marking the first government led by the TVK. The cabinet formation signals the start of a new political era in the state, with the leadership aiming to balance experience, youth representation and regional political equations.

One of the most notable inclusions in the cabinet is senior leader KA Sengottaiyan, a former AIADMK veteran who has previously worked under chief ministers MGR and Jayalalithaa. His induction is being seen as a move to bring administrative experience into the new government, as he joins after a public fallout with the AIADMK leadership.

Another key appointment is Aadhav Arjuna, a close aide and strategist within Vijay’s core team. Arjuna, who won from the Villivakkam constituency in Chennai, has played a significant role in building the party’s organisational structure and is considered one of the influential figures behind TVK’s electoral strategy.

The cabinet also includes Nirmal Kumar, who secured victory from Thiruparankundram in Madurai. A former BJP functionary, he switched allegiance to TVK ahead of the elections and emerged as an important political face for the party in southern Tamil Nadu.

The formation of this compact cabinet is being viewed as an effort by Vijay to maintain a tightly controlled executive structure while ensuring representation across regions and political backgrounds. The new government is expected to formally assume office in Chennai during the swearing-in ceremony, marking a historic shift in Tamil Nadu politics.
