Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis declared a transformative initiative to strengthen the state’s Information Technology (IT) department, aiming to revolutionize the delivery of citizen services. Speaking during a high-level meeting with senior officials in Mumbai, Fadnavis emphasized the pivotal role of IT in streamlining governance through the General Administration Department. “Empowering the IT department is key to realizing the vision of digital Maharashtra,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister outlined a strategic focus on expanding digital access to government services, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data analytics, and cybersecurity to enhance efficiency and transparency. Additionally, Fadnavis announced the establishment of a dedicated institution to advance the use of geospatial technology in planning and decision-making processes, signaling a forward-thinking approach to data-driven governance.
