Vijay’s Rally Rocks DMK Stronghold Promising to End Family Rule

Vijay challenges DMK dominance in Tiruvarur with bold rally.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and celebrated actor-politician Vijay launched a fiery attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) during a massive rally in Tiruvarur, the native stronghold of DMK President and Chief Minister M K Stalin, on Saturday. Addressing a charged crowd, Vijay articulated his party’s mission to build a Tamil Nadu free from “family dominance,” taking a direct swipe at the DMK’s long-standing political legacy in the region.

The rally, held in the heart of Tiruvarur—a district deeply rooted in the DMK’s Dravidian ideology and the birthplace of its late patriarch M Karunanidhi—saw Vijay countering skeptics who claim his large gatherings won’t translate into votes. Engaging the enthusiastic crowd of young men and women, he asked, “Will you not vote? Is this an ‘empty gathering’?” The resounding chants of “Vijay” in response signaled strong support for his burgeoning political movement.

Vijay accused the DMK government of neglecting Tiruvarur, pointing to deficiencies in basic amenities like road infrastructure despite the district’s historical significance as a DMK bastion for over five decades. He positioned TVK as a force for change, aiming to dismantle entrenched political dynasties and prioritize development for all.
