Kejriwal Demands Resignation Of Education Minister Over CBSE Evaluation Irregularities

Kejriwal criticises education minister over CBSE evaluation issues, demands resignation.

Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Monday launched a sharp attack on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) evaluation process. He accused the minister of failing to handle the education system effectively and said the situation had caused widespread distress among students and parents across the country.

Kejriwal, in a video message posted on social media platform X, called Pradhan “incompetent and useless” and demanded his immediate resignation. He alleged that the alleged issues in CBSE’s evaluation process had created uncertainty for lakhs of students, particularly those awaiting Class 10 and 12 results, and said the matter had pushed their academic future into confusion.

Referring to previous controversies involving national-level examinations, Kejriwal said this was not an isolated incident and cited the NEET examination issues as an earlier example. He claimed that repeated failures in examination management reflected poorly on the education ministry and said the minister “does not deserve to continue in office even for a day.”

The AAP leader also highlighted the mental stress faced by students and parents due to delays and reported technical glitches in the CBSE system. He demanded that revaluation fees be reduced and called for a manual, time-bound review process to ensure that students do not face delays in securing admissions to higher education institutions.

Kejriwal further alleged that the online CBSE portal was malfunctioning, with reports of blurred scanned answer sheets and other technical issues affecting students attempting to access their results or apply for revaluation. He said such problems were unacceptable and reflected administrative inefficiency at the highest level of the education system.

Meanwhile, the Union Education Ministry has stated that CBSE will involve experts from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur to address technical issues in its post-result services portal. Officials said the move aims to improve system reliability and ensure smoother processing of student requests related to results, revaluation, and other academic services.
