BJP Names Harsh Malhotra Delhi Chief Amid Three-State Leadership Announcements

BJP appoints Harsh Malhotra Delhi chief amid state-level reshuffle.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced a set of key organisational appointments, naming new state presidents for Delhi, Haryana, Tripura, and Punjab as part of a broader restructuring of its state and national leadership teams. Union Minister of State and Member of Parliament Harsh Malhotra has been appointed as the BJP’s new Delhi unit president, a significant organisational role in the national capital where the party is aiming to strengthen its political base ahead of upcoming electoral cycles. His appointment is seen as part of the party’s strategy to consolidate leadership in a politically sensitive region.

In Haryana, the party named Archana Gupta as the new state unit president. The appointment comes as the BJP continues to fine-tune its organisational structure in the state, focusing on strengthening grassroots networks and preparing for future electoral challenges. For Tripura, the BJP announced Abhishek Debroy as the new state president. The northeastern state has been a key region for the party in recent years, and leadership changes are often viewed as part of efforts to maintain organisational momentum and voter outreach in the region.

In Punjab, where the political landscape remains highly competitive, Kewal Singh Dillon has been appointed as the new state unit chief. The party is expected to intensify its organisational groundwork in the state, where it has been working to expand its presence against strong regional parties. According to party sources, the latest appointments are part of a wider restructuring exercise initiated under the leadership of the BJP’s central organisation.

The process is aimed at building a refreshed team of office bearers at both state and national levels to improve coordination and electoral preparedness. Party leaders said the restructuring is intended to enhance internal efficiency and strengthen communication between the central leadership and state units. The appointments also signal the beginning of a broader organisational overhaul expected to continue in the coming months as the BJP prepares for upcoming state elections and long-term national strategy planning.
