BJP Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Calls Him Anti-India Flag Bearer

BJP accuses Rahul Gandhi of leading anti-India forces abroad.

In a fiery press conference, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unleashed a scathing critique against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, branding him the "flag-bearer of anti-India forces" for allegedly promoting divisive agendas during his recent speech in Colombia. BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi warned the public to remain vigilant against Gandhi and the Nehru-Gandhi family's influence, claiming it poses a grave threat to national unity and democracy.

Trivedi zeroed in on Gandhi's remarks at a university event in Colombia on Thursday, where the Congress leader reportedly mentioned India's 16-17 languages. The BJP spokesperson interpreted this as a deliberate attempt to ignite linguistic conflicts and exacerbate the long-standing North-South divide in the country. "Rahul Gandhi has now become the jhanda bardar (flag-bearer) of anti-India forces," Trivedi declared, urging citizens to exercise caution. He further alleged that under the century-old dominance of the Nehru-Gandhi family, the Congress party is increasingly falling prey to "dangerous foreign influences," which could undermine India's sovereignty.

The BJP leader painted a stark contrast between the Congress's past and present leadership. "There was a time when the Congress had mature leaders like Indira Gandhi and P.V. Narasimha Rao, who knew how to strategically engage with ultra-left elements without letting them take over," Trivedi said. However, he lambasted the current dispensation as "immature" and reckless, suggesting that the party's desperation for power has led it to embrace foreign-originated ideologies. Trivedi posed a provocative question to political analysts: "If a party, driven by greed or compulsions, accepts leadership of foreign origin, is it just the party's mistake or a national crisis?"

Escalating the rhetoric, Trivedi referenced controversial statements from other Congress figures, including leader Udit Raj's alleged remark labeling Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "symbol of modern Ravan." He dismissed such comments as a manifestation of the opposition's frustration after years out of power. "Those who backed the killers of Ram bhakts and skipped the Ram Temple inauguration in Ayodhya, yet visited Babar's memorial multiple times, are the true symbols of Ravan's legacy," Trivedi retorted, contrasting it with Modi's embodiment of Lord Ram's values.

The BJP's broadside comes amid heightened political tensions, with the Congress defending Gandhi's Colombia speech as a discussion on India's diversity and global democracy. Party insiders, however, expressed concerns over the escalating war of words, fearing it could polarize the electorate further ahead of upcoming elections. Trivedi concluded by appealing to conscientious Congress members: "Those aware of this dangerous slide are committing treason; others must wake up and rein in such leaders before it's too late."

This confrontation highlights the deepening chasm between India's two major political parties, with the BJP positioning itself as the guardian of national integrity while accusing the Congress of colluding with external adversaries. As the debate rages on social media and news channels, political observers are closely watching how Gandhi responds to these explosive allegations.
