Nitin Nabin leads BJP rallies in Bengal, targets Mamata Banerjee as campaign intensifies ahead of elections.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin is set to hold a series of rallies and roadshows across West Bengal on Monday, marking an intensified push in the party’s election campaign in the state. According to party officials, Nabin’s schedule begins with a public rally at 10:30 a.m. at Dariberiya School More, Kali Mandir Ground in Mahishadal, located in the Purba Medinipur (Tamluk) region. This will be followed by a roadshow at 12:30 p.m. in Egra, Midnapur district, stretching from Egra Sarada Shashibhushan College to Digha More. Later in the afternoon, he is expected to lead another roadshow in Keshiary at 3:00 p.m., starting from Keshiary High School Ground and concluding at the Keshiary Central Bus Stand.

The BJP’s campaign momentum will also be reinforced by Union Minister J. P. Nadda, who is scheduled to participate in key public outreach programmes in the state. His itinerary includes a roadshow in Burwan in Behrampur district at 11:00 a.m., followed by a public rally at 12:45 p.m. in Monglamoaro, Patashpur Purba in Kanthi district.

On Sunday, while addressing a rally in Balurghat, Nabin targeted Mamata Banerjee and the Indian National Congress, accusing them of obstructing the implementation of women’s reservation in legislatures. He alleged that despite being a woman leader, Banerjee had failed to support the passage of the women’s reservation bill in the Lok Sabha.

Nabin further urged women voters in the state to hold the ruling All India Trinamool Congress accountable, claiming that the government had failed to ensure women’s safety and security. He cited incidents at R.G. Kar Hospital and a medical college in Durgapur to support his criticism, while also asserting that a change in government was necessary to address concerns related to infiltration and governance.

The remarks come in the backdrop of the recent defeat of a Constitution Amendment Bill proposing 33 per cent reservation for women in legislatures. With the BJP stepping up its campaign, the political contest in West Bengal is expected to intensify further in the coming days.
