Amit Shah Warns of Rampant Infiltration Under Opposition

Amit Shah urges BJP to expose opposition's infiltration risks.

In a fiery address to BJP workers in Dehri-on-Sone, approximately 50 kilometers from Patna, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on the opposition INDIA bloc ahead of Bihar’s upcoming state assembly elections. Speaking at a party workers’ conclave, Shah urged BJP cadres to fan out across the state and warn voters of a looming threat: rampant infiltration from Bangladesh if the opposition coalition seizes power.

Shah, widely regarded as the BJP’s master strategist, accused the INDIA bloc, led by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, of peddling a “false narrative” about vote theft to distract from their own agenda. He zeroed in on Gandhi’s recent “Voter Adhikar Yatra,” claiming its true purpose was to shield Bangladeshi infiltrators. “Go to every household, every village, and tell the people of Bihar: if the opposition comes to power, even by a stroke of luck, every district will be overrun with infiltrators,” Shah declared, his words met with thunderous applause from party loyalists.

The Home Minister didn’t stop there. He dismissed Gandhi’s allegations of “vote chori” (vote theft) as a recycled tactic, drawing parallels to past Congress claims that the BJP planned to abolish reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). “Did we scrap reservations? No! Their lies were exposed then, and we’ll expose them again,” Shah thundered, rallying workers to counter the opposition’s narrative with grassroots outreach.

Shah’s remarks come at a critical juncture as Bihar gears up for a fiercely contested election. The BJP, part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is locked in a high-stakes battle against the INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties including Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and others. Bihar, with its 243-member assembly, is a key political battleground, and Shah’s aggressive rhetoric signals the BJP’s intent to frame the election as a choice between national security and chaos.

The Home Minister also emphasized the BJP’s commitment to development and security, contrasting it with what he called the opposition’s “divisive agenda.” He urged workers to highlight the NDA government’s achievements, such as infrastructure growth and law enforcement, while warning that an opposition victory could unravel these gains. “Bihar’s future is at stake. Don’t let their lies fool the people,” he said.

As the campaign intensifies, Shah’s call to action has energized BJP workers, who are now tasked with taking his message to every corner of the state. With infiltration emerging as a polarizing issue, the BJP aims to sway voters by tapping into fears of demographic change and border security. Whether this strategy will resonate with Bihar’s electorate or backfire as fear-mongering remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the battle for Bihar just got fiercer.
