Amit Shah Says BJP Will End ‘Syndicate Raj’ After Winning Bengal Elections

Amit Shah vows to end syndicate raj if BJP wins Bengal.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would end the alleged “syndicate raj” under the All India Trinamool Congress government if it comes to power in West Bengal after the upcoming Assembly elections. Addressing a public gathering, Shah accused the ruling party of fostering a system where local syndicates allegedly control construction, contracts, and business activities, impacting everyday life and economic functioning in the state. He asserted that a BJP government would dismantle such networks and ensure a more transparent and corruption-free administration.

The senior BJP leader also targeted the state leadership, claiming that governance under the current dispensation has been marked by favouritism and lack of accountability. He said the party’s electoral campaign would focus on issues such as law and order, development, and what he described as institutionalised corruption.

The Trinamool Congress has consistently rejected allegations of a “syndicate raj,” maintaining that such claims are politically motivated and aimed at undermining its governance record. Party leaders have pointed to welfare schemes and infrastructure development as evidence of their performance in office.

West Bengal remains a key battleground in Indian politics, with the BJP seeking to expand its footprint in the state while the Trinamool Congress aims to retain its dominance. The contest is expected to be closely watched, given its implications for national political dynamics.

Shah’s remarks are likely to intensify political rhetoric in the run-up to the elections, as both sides sharpen their messaging around governance, corruption, and development. The issue of alleged syndicates is expected to remain a central theme in the campaign narrative.
