Akhilesh Yadav Responds To PM Modi’s Remarks During Lok Sabha Session

Akhilesh Yadav responds to PM Modi Lok Sabha remark

Samajwadi Party Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav responded sharply to remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha, saying that he “doesn’t need such friends,” escalating the political exchange between the opposition and the ruling party during parliamentary proceedings.

The comment came after a heated discussion in the Lower House, where Prime Minister Modi referred to opposition unity and political alliances while addressing ongoing debates on governance and policy matters. Yadav interpreted the remarks as a veiled reference to his party and other opposition groups.

Speaking to reporters after the session, Yadav dismissed the Prime Minister’s comment and said he had no requirement for such political associations, stressing instead that his focus remained on democratic accountability and public issues. His response reflected growing friction between the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party in Parliament.

The exchange is part of a broader pattern of sharp political sparring in the Lok Sabha, where debates have increasingly featured personal and ideological criticism alongside policy discussions. Opposition leaders have frequently accused the government of targeting rival parties through political rhetoric, while the ruling side has maintained that its statements are aimed at highlighting contradictions within opposition alliances.

Yadav’s reaction also comes amid continued political mobilisation by opposition parties ahead of key electoral cycles, where coalition dynamics and public messaging are expected to play a significant role. His remarks are likely to further intensify the already strained political atmosphere in Parliament.

As of now, there has been no additional clarification from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the specific remark referenced by Yadav. The exchange underscores the ongoing political tensions that continue to define parliamentary discourse between the ruling party and opposition benches.
