Akhilesh Yadav Exposes BJP’s Health Crisis in UP: ‘Patients Left to Die!

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav launched a blistering attack on the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh on July 18, accusing it of “ruining” the state’s health services and leaving patients to suffer without proper care. In a fiery statement from SP headquarters in Lucknow, the former chief minister claimed lives are being lost due to the government’s neglect, with hospitals and medical colleges woefully underfunded and ill-equipped.

Yadav alleged that patients are forced to “wander from door to door” for treatment, with even basic facilities like ambulances and ventilators unavailable. “The BJP has turned medical colleges into mere referral centers,” he charged, pointing to a lack of professors, doctors, and technical staff in districts across UP. He singled out Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak, accusing him of ignoring the crisis while “his eyes are somewhere else.”

Highlighting his own tenure, Yadav touted the SP government’s achievements, including building major institutions like the Lohia Institute and Cancer Institute, and launching the 108 emergency ambulance service—initiatives he claims the BJP has allowed to deteriorate. He criticized the current regime for failing to expand facilities at premier institutions like KGMU and PGI, leaving even Lucknow’s hospitals unable to provide ventilators for critical patients.

Yadav warned that public anger is mounting over the BJP’s “false promises and rhetoric.” Vowing to hold the government accountable, he predicted a strong backlash in the 2027 assembly elections, with the public ready to “wipe out” the BJP’s rule. As UP grapples with a crumbling healthcare system, Yadav’s scathing remarks signal a fierce political battle ahead.
