BJP Leader Slaps Official in Shocking Urea Dispute: Protests Erupt in Pilibhit!

BJP leader's alleged assault on Pilibhit agriculture officer sparks department strike.

In a dramatic escalation in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, Agriculture Department employees staged a fiery strike on July 18 to protest the alleged assault of District Agriculture Officer (DAO) Narendra Pal Yadav by local BJP leader Nitin Pathak and his driver, Anmol, during a heated District Panchayat Board meeting. The incident, sparked by a discussion on a urea shortage, has ignited outrage and demands for justice.

Yadav filed a complaint claiming Pathak and Anmol assaulted, abused, and threatened him on Thursday. In a video statement, he called the attack a “pre-planned conspiracy” linked to his caste, alleging “goons” were present at the meeting. Police have since registered an FIR against the duo, with Circle Officer Deepak Chaturvedi confirming that investigations are underway.

On Friday, furious Agriculture Department staff halted work, chanting slogans against “hooliganism” and demanding the immediate arrest of Pathak and Anmol. They submitted a memorandum to the district magistrate, vowing to continue protests until action is taken.

Pathak, however, denied the allegations, claiming a censure motion was passed against Yadav for “absurd statements” and misconduct toward a female board member. He further accused Yadav of fertilizer embezzlement, escalating the war of words.

The incident has turned Pilibhit into a battleground of accusations, with tensions running high as authorities scramble to address the fallout.
