AIADMK Chief Palaniswami Launches 2026 Election Campaign from Mettupalayam

“Our government will always stand with farmers”.

AIADMK General Secretary and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami kicked off his state-wide campaign for the 2026 Assembly elections on Monday from Mettupalayam, Coimbatore, with a pledge to prioritize farmers and reclaim the state’s governance. The campaign, themed “Let’s Protect the People, Let’s Redeem Tamil Nadu,” will span all 234 Assembly constituencies.

Speaking to farmers and weavers at Thekkampatti, Palaniswami promised to expand the Athikadavu-Avinashi irrigation project to bolster agricultural support. “Our government will always stand with farmers,” he affirmed, reinforcing AIADMK’s commitment to rural communities. Earlier, he offered prayers at the Vana Bhadrakali Amman temple, marking a symbolic start to the campaign.

The launch sets the tone for AIADMK’s bid to challenge the ruling DMK, with Palaniswami aiming to capitalize on public discontent over governance issues. The campaign’s first phase will cover multiple districts, focusing on grassroots engagement to rebuild the party’s momentum ahead of the 2026 polls.
