AAP Internal Crisis: Jaihind Alleges Chadha Was Kejriwal's Confidant and Extortion Courier
Former AAP leader links Chadha's ouster to alleged extortion money and London transfer.
Amid the ongoing internal turmoil within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), former Haryana leader Naveen Jaihind has alleged that Raghav Chadha, the party MP, is Arvind Kejriwal's "raazdaar" (confidant) and that the dispute surrounding him is primarily over money. Jaihind claimed that Chadha collected extortion money from Delhi and Punjab, which was later taken to London instead of Singapore.
Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Jaihind said, “Raghav Chadha is Kejriwal's maaldaar (wealthy) and raazdaar, and the real dispute is about the money extorted from Punjab and Delhi. The money that was supposed to be sent to Singapore, he took to England. During this time, he was made to stand like a rooster and beaten in Delhi, and then he was beaten at the secret mansion in Chandigarh. This entire matter is about money and corruption, nothing else.”
The controversy erupted after Chadha was removed from his position as deputy leader of the AAP in the Rajya Sabha earlier this week. Following his removal, Chadha accused the party leadership of silencing his voice, escalating tensions within the party. Several AAP leaders, in turn, criticised Chadha, alleging that he had been “compromised” and was intimidated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chadha responded to the allegations on Saturday, dismissing them as a “coordinated attack” and rejecting claims that he refused to walk out of Parliament or sign an impeachment motion against the chief election commissioner. In a post on X, he said, “Since yesterday, a scripted campaign has been going on against me. Same language, same words, same allegations. This is not a coincidence but a coordinated attack. At first, I thought I shouldn't respond. Then I thought that if a lie is repeated 100 times, some people might believe it. So, I decided to respond.”
The allegations and counterclaims highlight deepening rifts within the party just weeks ahead of critical state and national political events, raising questions about internal governance and leadership dynamics. Political observers noted that such public disputes could affect the party’s image among its supporters and impact its electoral strategies.
With tensions running high, the AAP leadership is yet to issue a comprehensive statement addressing the multiple claims and counterclaims, leaving members and the public closely watching the developments unfold in the coming days.
