Uttarakhand Flourishes Under BJP: Rajnath Singh Praises CM Dhami’s Leadership
Rajnath Singh praises CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP for Uttarakhand’s growth across sectors in four years.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday lauded the achievements of Uttarakhand’s BJP government, highlighting growth across sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, employment, women empowerment, and welfare of ex-servicemen. Speaking at an event in Haldwani to mark four years of BJP rule in the state, Singh also praised Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for his leadership, dubbing him “Dhurandhar” Dhami.
Addressing attendees, Singh said, “I bow in respect to the bravery and spirit of the people of Uttarakhand. This land is deeply connected with faith, devotion, and spirituality… the Devbhoomi… and people here have immense respect for the divine.” He added that Uttarakhand, known for its gentle people, also embodies strength and resilience comparable to the state’s mountainous terrain.
Singh praised the state’s spiritual and cultural heritage, noting, “This land has been the home to seers for years. If any state is seen as the place of austerities in India, then it’s Uttarakhand. The tradition of knowledge, devotion, and respect of people of Uttarakhand gives a path to the country.” He credited Dhami’s leadership for driving significant developmental initiatives across the state.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Singh said, “Be it infrastructure, tourism, employment or women empowerment, Pushkar Singh Dhami has done significant work in all fields. No one could have imagined that a government would be able to do so much work in such a small state as Uttarakhand. The government under Dhami, completing four years, deserves to be appreciated.” He also paid tribute to those who fought for the state’s creation, describing Uttarakhand as not only Devbhoomi and Tapobhoomi but also Veerbhoomi.
The Defence Minister underscored welfare measures for ex-servicemen, including financial assistance to families of martyrs, educational and employment reservations, and the enhancement of financial aid for Param Veer Chakra awardees from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. He further highlighted the development of all-weather road connectivity for the Char Dham Yatra, emphasizing the benefits for tourism and the local economy.
Singh also addressed broader national and international issues, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for raising India’s global stature and asserting India’s firm stance against illegal immigration in Uttarakhand. On global conflicts, he noted, “No country will be left unaffected in these difficult times. There might be an energy crisis in future, but I know people will support PM Modi’s stand for India.” Singh concluded with a call to protect Uttarakhand’s sanctity while continuing its developmental progress.
