CM Dhami Unveils Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27 Prioritising Inclusive Growth
Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27 aims for inclusive growth, border area development, and welfare for all sections.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday said the Uttarakhand Budget 2026-27 prioritizes inclusive development across all sectors while ensuring that government schemes reach the most remote beneficiaries. Speaking to IANS, Dhami emphasized that the budget focuses on supporting farmers, youth, Scheduled Castes, the poor, and residents of border areas, ensuring that no section of society is left behind.
“The budget emphasizes inclusive development of the state. Every section of society—farmers, the poor, youth, Scheduled Castes, and people in border areas—has been prioritized,” Dhami said. He added that development initiatives have been designed to cover all sectors and regions, with special attention given to border areas, so that the benefits of government schemes reach the “last mile.”
Dhami highlighted that the state aims to accelerate growth through innovation, expanding existing schemes, and timely completion of ongoing projects. “Our state should move forward with great speed. Innovation programmes should progress further, new schemes should be expanded, new projects should begin, and ongoing projects should be completed on schedule,” he stated. The Chief Minister also assured that adequate provisions have been made for capital expenditure to prevent delays in development projects.

The budget, Dhami said, aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making the current decade a defining period for Uttarakhand. The Rs 1.11 lakh crore plan, presented on March 9 during the first day of the state Assembly’s Budget Session, follows the “GYAN” model, which emphasizes welfare for the poor, youth empowerment, farmer support, women’s empowerment, and strengthened infrastructure, tourism, technology, and social welfare initiatives.
Commenting on recent disruptions in the Uttarakhand Assembly, Dhami called on the Opposition to play a constructive role in the democratic process. “Opposition parties should act responsibly and engage in meaningful discussions on issues concerning the state. Both the ruling party and the Opposition together drive the vehicle of democracy,” he said.
Addressing preparations for the annual pilgrimage, the Chief Minister assured that the Char Dham Yatra would be conducted smoothly this year, with all necessary arrangements in place. The Uttarakhand government’s approach reflects an effort to balance inclusive growth, efficient governance, and timely project execution while strengthening the state’s social and economic infrastructure.
