UPSC Invites Applications For 40 Assistant Professor Posts, Check Details
UPSC announces 40 teaching vacancies for applicants.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications for 47 vacancies across multiple government posts, including Specialist Grade 3 Assistant Professor positions in various medical disciplines. Interested candidates can apply through the UPSC Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal until 6 pm on July 31, 2026.
The recruitment drive includes vacancies for Specialist Grade 3 Assistant Professor in subjects such as Clinical Hematology, Endocrinology, Neonatology, Nuclear Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Paediatric Cardiology and Surgical Gastroenterology. Apart from teaching posts, vacancies have also been announced for Assistant Soil Chemist, Prosecutor, Deputy Assistant Director (Entomology), Entomologist and Junior Scientific Officer (Toxicology).
Among the advertised positions, Specialist Grade 3 Assistant Professor posts account for a significant share of the vacancies. The commission has announced nine posts in Clinical Hematology, 10 in Endocrinology, 13 in Neonatology, three each in Nuclear Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine, and one each in Paediatric Cardiology and Surgical Gastroenterology.

The eligibility requirements differ depending on the position. Medical faculty posts require candidates to possess an MBBS degree along with relevant postgraduate super-speciality qualifications and teaching experience. Other posts require qualifications such as master’s degrees in agriculture, zoology, public health entomology, toxicology or law, along with the required professional experience as mentioned in the official notification.
The upper age limit varies according to the post and applicant category, ranging between 33 and 45 years. Age relaxation will be provided to eligible candidates from reserved categories and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) as per government rules.
Selected candidates will receive salaries under Pay Levels 8, 10 and 11 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix, depending on the position. Specialist Grade 3 Assistant Professors will also be eligible for Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) in addition to their basic pay. UPSC has advised applicants to carefully verify all details before submitting their applications, as incorrect information may result in rejection during the recruitment process.
