Tragedy Strikes Rajasthan: School Collapse Kills Four
School Collapse Kills Four, Traps Many!
A catastrophic collapse at Peeplodi Government School in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district claimed the lives of four children and injured 17 others on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 8:30 am in Manoharthana block during classes, with the dilapidated single-storey building’s roof giving way, trapping dozens.
Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar reported that 10 injured children were rushed to Jhalawar hospitals, with three to four in critical condition. Rescue efforts, aided by teachers, villagers, and JCB machines, extracted survivors from the debris.
Local allegations point to the building’s long-neglected state, despite prior complaints. Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar expressed grief, promising a high-level inquiry and government-covered treatment for the injured.
