One dead, another trapped in school collapse
A devastating incident unfolded in Jharkhand’s capital as heavy rainfall triggered the collapse of a government school’s roof in Piska More, claiming one life and leaving another person feared trapped, police reported Friday.
The collapse occurred at a government school, where an elderly individual, sleeping on the verandah, was fatally crushed under the debris. “We’ve deployed a team for rescue operations following reports of another person trapped,” said Manoj Kumar, in-charge of Sudkhdeo Nagar Police Station.
Rescue efforts are ongoing to save the individual believed to be under the rubble. The police are probing the incident to determine the cause, with further details pending.
