Tejas Rajdhani Express halted at Aligarh over bomb threat, later confirmed as hoax.
Patna Tejas Rajdhani Express was stopped at Aligarh Junction on Saturday night following a reported bomb threat, authorities said. Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police immediately launched a security operation, deploying dog squads, bomb disposal teams, and fire tenders as a precaution.
RPF Assistant Security Commissioner Gulzar Singh said the GRP control room in Agra first received information about a fire in one of the train’s coaches, followed by a claim that a bomb had been planted onboard. Acting swiftly, the non-stop train was halted at 10:19 pm to ensure passenger safety.
A joint team including RPF post commander DP Singh, GRP inspector Sandeep Tomar, Civil Lines police, and other officials conducted a meticulous search of all 16 coaches, toilets, and luggage compartments. The operation lasted around 31 minutes, during which no suspicious material was found.
