IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lucknow Over Bomb Threat

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Bagdogra was diverted to Lucknow on Sunday morning following a bomb threat onboard, causing panic among passengers. The airline confirmed that it immediately informed authorities and followed established security protocols to ensure passenger safety.

The threat reportedly originated from a handwritten note found on a tissue paper in the aircraft’s toilet. Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma said the flight, carrying 238 people including 2 pilots and 5 crew members, was safely landed in Lucknow around 9:17 AM.

Upon landing, the aircraft was isolated at Lucknow airport, and all passengers were evacuated. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the bomb disposal squad began a thorough search of the plane and surrounding areas. Regular safety checks and scans were conducted to rule out any danger.

IndiGo spokesperson stated that passengers were provided refreshments and kept informed during the emergency diversion. The airline emphasized that the safety and security of customers and crew remain its top priority, and authorities are cooperating fully to investigate the incident.

Investigations are underway to identify the origin of the note and the person responsible, while authorities have urged passengers and the public to remain calm. The incident highlights the critical importance of airline security measures and rapid response protocols, especially in light of potential threats to passenger safety.
