Preliminary investigations suggest that overspeeding and possible driver error may have contributed to the accident, though officials said a detailed probe is underway. Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the expressway, as well as statements from survivors, to determine the precise cause of the collision.
The accident briefly disrupted traffic on the Yamuna Expressway, a key arterial route connecting Delhi with Agra and other parts of western Uttar Pradesh. Traffic movement was restored after damaged vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
Road safety experts have repeatedly flagged the Yamuna Expressway for frequent accidents linked to high speeds and heavy commercial traffic. Authorities said they would review safety measures and urged drivers to adhere strictly to speed limits and lane discipline to prevent such fatal incidents in the future.
