Seven-year-old killed in Kerala road accident.
A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded in Kozhinjampara, north Kerala, on Monday morning when seven-year-old Nafisath Misriya, a second-standard student at St Paul’s School, died after falling from a scooter and being run over by a bus, police reported.
The accident occurred on the Palakkad-Pollachi Road as Nafisath and her father rode toward her school. An auto rickshaw ahead suddenly braked to avoid a large pothole, causing the scooter to lose control. Both father and daughter fell onto the road. Tragically, Nafisath fell to the right and was struck by an oncoming bus, resulting in her immediate death, police said.
Despite being rushed to a hospital by bystanders, Nafisath was declared dead on arrival. Her father sustained only minor injuries.
