A devastating collision between a sleeper bus and a container truck near Teehi village on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway left eight people injured and sent shockwaves through the night.
The accident, which occurred around 8 p.m. last night, set the bus ablaze, reducing it to a smoldering wreck within minutes.
The bus, carrying around 40 passengers from Indore to Pune, slammed head-on into the truck near the Mhow bypass. The impact crumpled the front of the bus, sparking a fierce fire that engulfed the vehicle. Among the injured were the driver and a female passenger, all of whom were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Miraculously, over 30 passengers escaped the inferno before it consumed the bus entirely.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with thick smoke from the truck potentially obscuring the driver’s view, as reported by the bus conductor. The fire brigade, delayed by nearly 30 minutes, struggled to contain the blaze, which left the highway choked with traffic for hours. Police from Mhow and Pithampur are investigating the cause of the crash, which fortunately claimed no lives.
As the investigation unfolds, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking on busy highways, where a split second can ignite catastrophe.
