RSS Chief Attends Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple Consecration In Tripura

Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple consecration in Tripura attended by Mohan Bhagwat and senior leaders.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday attended the Prana Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple at Fakira Mura in Mohanpur, West Tripura. The religious event drew significant attention as it brought together senior political leaders, spiritual figures, and devotees during a major ceremonial gathering in the state.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha. The ceremony also coincided with Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, adding further religious and cultural significance to the occasion.

Chief Minister Manik Saha described the event on social media, highlighting his participation in the consecration and Kumbhabhisheka rituals in the presence of Mohan Bhagwat. He said the temple complex was designed to inspire spiritual reflection and cultural awareness, noting that it features inscriptions of Adi Shankaracharya’s “Soundarya Lahari” and teachings intended to promote philosophical thought and devotion.

The temple structure is notable for its distinctive architecture and symbolism. According to details shared by the Chinmaya Seva Trust, the complex includes 27 black stone pillars sourced from Tamil Nadu, representing the 27 Nakshatras of Hindu astrology. The sanctum houses a 15-foot black stone idol of Maa Soundarya Chinmoyee, alongside a smaller idol modelled after the Tripura Sundari Temple for daily worship. The design notably excludes a conventional roof, symbolising an open connection with the divine.

Religious rituals during the ceremony included Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam, conducted with traditional Vedic procedures. Priests from Nepal were specially invited to officiate the rituals, ensuring adherence to established spiritual customs and authenticity in the ceremonial practices.

The temple, developed under the Chinmaya Mission’s Chinmaya Seva Trust, is expected to become a prominent centre for spiritual, cultural, and contemplative activities in the region. With its blend of devotional architecture, scriptural inscriptions, and high-profile participation, the site is being positioned as a new landmark in Tripura’s evolving religious and cultural landscape.
