Revanth Reddy Predicts Congress Majority In Telangana Assembly Elections 2029

Revanth Reddy predicts Congress victory in Telangana 2029 polls.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday expressed confidence that the Congress would retain power in the state in the 2029 Assembly elections, predicting that the party would win more than 115 seats in the expanded Assembly. Addressing Congress workers in Khammam, Reddy urged journalists to note his statement as an expression of the party’s confidence ahead of the next electoral battle.

Reddy said Telangana’s political landscape would undergo changes after the next delimitation exercise, with the number of Lok Sabha constituencies expected to increase from 17 to 26 and Assembly constituencies from the existing 119 to 182. He claimed that the Congress would secure a clear majority in the larger Assembly and work towards forming the government for a second consecutive term.

During his address, the Chief Minister invoked Lord Rama and Lord Sita of Bhadrachalam’s Ramachandra Swamy temple while describing his prediction as the commitment of Congress workers in Khammam. He said party leaders would work extensively, including spending long hours on the ground, to ensure that the Congress receives another mandate from voters in the state.

Reddy also targeted the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leadership, including party president K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family. He asked them to remember July 10, 2026, as the day when the Congress began preparing its campaign for a second consecutive term in government.

The Chief Minister’s remarks came shortly after BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao claimed that the Congress government had lost public support midway through its tenure. Speaking at a party review meeting in Hyderabad, KTR alleged that a survey linked to the Chief Minister indicated growing anti-incumbency against the ruling party.

KTR claimed that the BRS would win around 78 Assembly seats if elections were held immediately and said his party was emerging as the main alternative to Congress. He accused the state government of failing to fulfil promises and attempting to shift attention by raising issues related to decisions taken during the previous BRS administration. With both parties making early electoral claims, political activity in Telangana has intensified well before the 2029 Assembly polls.
