The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the results of the RBI Assistant Preliminary Examination 2026, bringing relief and anticipation for thousands of candidates who appeared for the recruitment test. The prelims examination was conducted on April 11, 13, and 30, 2026, across various centres in the country, and the results were officially released on May 25.
According to the RBI, the result list contains the roll numbers of candidates who have been provisionally shortlisted for the next stage of the selection process. Candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination are now eligible to appear for the RBI Assistant Mains Examination, which is scheduled to be held on June 7, 2026. The announcement marks an important step in the multi-stage recruitment process for one of India’s most sought-after banking jobs.
The Reserve Bank has also stated that admit cards for the Mains examination will be made available soon on its official website. These call letters will include crucial information such as exam centre details, reporting time, and examination instructions. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official RBI portal to avoid missing updates related to the next phase of the recruitment process.

The RBI has also indicated that additional instructions regarding exam-related assistance will be issued soon. This includes provisions for candidates requiring scribes, compensatory time, or other support due to physical limitations. The central bank emphasised that all such details will be updated on the official portal ahead of the Mains examination.
With the prelims stage completed, shortlisted candidates now move one step closer to securing positions in the RBI Assistant cadre. The upcoming Mains examination will play a decisive role in final selection, making the next few weeks crucial for aspirants preparing for the final stage.
