Two men have been arrested in Bikaner district for the alleged abduction and gang rape of a 17-year-old Class 12 student. The horrific crime took place on January 6, 2026, when the teenager was walking to school in the morning. Police said the accused—both 23 years old—intercepted her on the way, forcibly took her to a secluded spot, and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, the girl somehow managed to return home and immediately told her family, who rushed to the police station to file a complaint.
A case was quickly registered under serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (including rape and kidnapping) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as the victim is a minor. A special investigation team was formed the same day, and thanks to prompt action and technical leads, both suspects were arrested within a few days. The accused are scheduled to be produced in court on January 15, 2026, for remand and further legal proceedings.
The investigation remains active. Police are checking for any possible involvement of additional persons and are collecting forensic evidence, including medical reports and digital traces, to build a strong case. Authorities have assured the public that the matter will be fast-tracked through the courts.
