Six Year Old Beaten to Death By Father And Stepmother Over Soiled Clothes
A six-year-old girl was beaten to death by her father and stepmother in Ghaziabad after she soiled her clothes.
A shocking case of child cruelty has emerged from the Dasna area of Ghaziabad, where a 6-year-old girl named Shifa was allegedly beaten to death by her father and stepmother for soiling her clothes. The incident occurred on Sunday, January 11, 2026, and came to light after the child succumbed to her injuries.
According to police, Shifa was playing on a road in her locality when she accidentally slipped and fell into a nearby drain, resulting in her clothes getting dirty. Upon returning home and seeing her soiled clothes, her father, Akram, and stepmother, Nisha, reportedly subjected her to severe physical assault as punishment. The couple then left the injured child on the roof of the house in the cold night, where she remained exposed to the elements for several hours.
Shifa was later found in critical condition and rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival due to multiple injuries and possible hypothermia. A post-mortem examination is underway to determine the exact cause of death, but preliminary police investigations point to brutal beating and prolonged exposure to cold as the primary factors.

Both Akram and Nisha were arrested by the local police on January 14, 2026, and booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges related to culpable homicide not amounting to murder, cruelty to a child, and causing death by negligence. The police have described the case as one of extreme cruelty and have assured a thorough investigation.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the local community and among child rights activists, who have called for stringent punishment and greater awareness about child protection in the region. Authorities have urged parents and guardians to exercise restraint and seek help rather than resorting to violence in cases of minor accidents or mishaps involving children. The case once again highlights the urgent need for stronger enforcement of child safety laws and community vigilance against domestic abuse.
