Rahul Gandhi Makes Surprise Visit to Gurugram Pizza Restaurant
Congress leader spotted at Galleria Market; raises concerns over Haryana’s development.
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader, was spotted at a pizza restaurant in Gurugram’s bustling Galleria Market on Tuesday night, in a surprise visit that caught the attention of locals and party supporters. According to Haryana Congress spokesperson Manish Khatana, only a handful of party leaders were aware of the unannounced outing, marking Gandhi’s second such visit to a Galleria Market eatery in four years.
During his 45-minute stay, Gandhi engaged with restaurant staff and patrons, using the informal setting to connect with the public. Khatana reported that Gandhi expressed concerns about Haryana’s development, stating that the state, including Gurugram, has lagged under the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) governance. He accused the BJP of neglecting key infrastructure and economic growth, leading to public dissatisfaction across the state.
Gandhi further criticized the BJP, alleging that the party has lost public trust and is resorting to manipulative tactics to retain power. His remarks come amid heightened political activity in Haryana, with the state assembly elections approaching in October 2025, where Congress aims to challenge the BJP’s decade-long rule.

The visit, reminiscent of Gandhi’s 2021 stop at another Galleria Market cafe, underscores his strategy of connecting with citizens in casual settings to discuss local issues. As Gurugram remains a key economic hub, Gandhi’s comments highlight Congress’s focus on development and governance critiques ahead of the polls, aiming to resonate with voters disillusioned by the incumbent government.
