Punjab Police Smash BKI Terror Module: Three Arrested in Grenade Attacks on Police Posts
In a decisive blow to terrorism, Punjab Police dismantled a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror module, arresting three operatives linked to grenade attacks on police posts in Badshahpur, Patiala, and Ajimgarh, Haryana.
The operation, led by Counter Intelligence (CI) Patiala and the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Mohali, targeted a network allegedly orchestrated by foreign-based handlers Maninder Billa and Manu Agwan, under the direction of terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda.
The arrested individuals, identified as Sandeep Singh alias Deepu, Harpreet Singh alias Jagga, and Harmanpreet Singh alias Preet, all Patiala residents, were nabbed following attacks on April 1 and April 6, 2025.

Police recovered two hand grenades and two pistols (.30 and .32 bore) from their possession. The module, which claimed responsibility for the attacks via social media through BKI operatives Happy Passia, Manu Agwan, and Gopi Nawasherian, was reportedly planning further strikes on Punjab police establishments.
Interrogations revealed the attacks were masterminded by Gurpreet Singh alias Babbu, currently in Patiala Jail, with Sandeep promised ₹3-4 lakh for the Badshahpur attack and Harmanpreet paid ₹10,000 for assisting in Ajimgarh.
The module received logistical and financial support from abroad, with investigations ongoing to uncover deeper links. “This breakthrough has solved both grenade attack cases, thwarting further threats,” said Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
