President Murmu Offers Prayers, Installs Massive Shri Ram Yantra in Ayodhya

President Murmu installs 150-kg Shri Ram Yantra at Ayodhya temple, offering prayers for prosperity and spiritual well-being.

President Droupadi Murmu visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Thursday, participating in special religious ceremonies and installing a 150-kilogram gold-plated metal plate known as the 'Shri Ram Yantra'. The visit underscores the significance of the temple in India’s cultural and spiritual landscape, drawing attention from dignitaries and devotees alike.

According to the official X handle of the President of India, Murmu offered prayers at the temple and performed the aarti at the Ramlala sanctum, seeking blessings for the happiness and prosperity of all. She was accompanied by Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mata Amritanandamayi, and other prominent figures during the ceremony.

Temple trust member Anil Mishra explained that the 150-kg square metal plate is based on Vedic mathematics and designed to generate positive spiritual energy, symbolizing the divine presence of Lord Ram. The plate, engraved with Vedic and 'beej' mantras, was modeled on the Shri Ram Yantra of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and crafted under the guidance of Swami Vijayendra Saraswati.

The metal plate was transported to Ayodhya in a ceremonial procession from Tirupati Devasthanam about two years ago and has been worshipped daily since. It was installed on the temple’s second floor during the auspicious 'abhijit muhurat', coinciding with rituals for Chaitra Navratri and the Hindu New Year, reinforcing the spiritual importance of the occasion.

Security measures for the president’s visit were heightened across the city. Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover reported that over 7,000 personnel were deployed at the temple complex and strategic locations throughout Ayodhya. Traffic restrictions were also enforced, with authorities advising residents and devotees to comply with safety guidelines and avoid restricted zones.

The event drew significant public attention, reflecting the temple’s central role in religious and cultural life in India. President Murmu’s visit and the installation of the Shri Ram Yantra were seen as symbolic gestures celebrating faith, tradition, and the continuity of age-old spiritual practices.
