Pradeep Bhandari Credits BJP Leadership For West Bengal Election Victory
Pradeep Bhandari calls BJP’s West Bengal win historic, crediting leadership and voter trust for the mandate.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on Monday hailed the party’s performance in the West Bengal Assembly elections, describing it as a “historic moment” and claiming that trust of the people had prevailed over fear. His remarks came after early trends and results indicated a significant shift in the state’s political landscape in favour of the BJP, marking one of its strongest electoral showings in the region in recent years.
In a post on social media platform X, Bhandari said “history is made,” asserting that the electorate had decisively rejected what he termed “appeasement politics.” He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the outcome, framing the result as a validation of the BJP’s governance model built on “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He added that the mandate reflected the aspirations of the people of West Bengal.
Bhandari further claimed that the result symbolised a victory of “trust over fear,” using the phrase “Bharosa won; Bhoy lost” to describe the electoral outcome. He said that voters had endorsed the BJP’s development-focused agenda and expressed confidence that the state had “blessed the party under PM Modi’s leadership.” His statements positioned the result as both a political and ideological shift in West Bengal’s voter sentiment.

The BJP spokesperson also acknowledged the efforts of party workers, crediting decades of organisational groundwork for strengthening the party’s presence in the state. He said that countless grassroots workers had contributed to expanding the BJP’s footprint in West Bengal, highlighting the role of sustained political mobilisation in achieving the current electoral outcome. According to him, the result was the culmination of long-term dedication by party cadres.
Bhandari also traced the BJP’s ideological roots in the region, noting that the Bharatiya Jana Sangh had its early foundations in Bengal. He described the present political developments as the outcome of a “civilisational struggle,” underscoring the symbolic importance the party attaches to the state. His remarks reflected the BJP’s framing of West Bengal as a key battleground in its broader national political narrative.
Concluding his statement, Bhandari expressed gratitude to senior party leadership, including Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, BJP president J.P. Nadda, and other organisational leaders for their guidance. He said he felt honoured to have contributed to what he described as a historic moment for the party. The comments came amid celebrations within the BJP over its performance in the closely watched West Bengal election results.
