PM Modi’s Fiery Warning to Pakistan: No Mercy for Terrorists, Indus Water Treaty Scrapped

PM Modi warns Pakistan, scraps Indus Water Treaty, and vows zero tolerance for terrorism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address from the Red Fort on India’s 79th Independence Day, issuing a stern warning to Pakistan and announcing a decisive shift in India’s stance on terrorism and the Indus Water Treaty. Modi declared that India will no longer differentiate between terrorists and their supporters, emphasizing that the armed forces will determine the response to any future provocations.

Hailing the success of Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, he stated, “Our brave soldiers punished those behind the attack beyond their imagination,” with new details of damages in Pakistan emerging daily.

Modi also took a firm stand against Pakistan’s nuclear threats, asserting, “India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail.” He lauded Operation Sindoor as a “new normal” in combating cross-border terrorism, highlighting the military’s unprecedented strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, which eliminated over 100 terrorists in just 23 minutes.

Addressing the Indus Water Treaty, Modi called it “unjust and one-sided,” arguing that it has caused “enormous harm” to Indian agriculture by allowing India’s waters to irrigate Pakistan’s fields while Indian farmers suffered. “India has decided that blood and water cannot flow together,” he proclaimed, announcing the treaty’s suspension to prioritize India’s farmers. He criticized the 1960 agreement, brokered by the World Bank, as a “strategic failure” that deprived India of its rightful share of the Indus river system.
