PM Modi To Interact With Participants Of Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026

PM Modi to engage with participants of village development initiative.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 through video conferencing on Sunday, July 26, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced on Saturday. The interaction is scheduled to take place at 4:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for the Prime Minister to hear directly from young participants who recently visited and engaged with communities in India’s border villages.

According to the PMO, the programme has been implemented through MY Bharat with the objective of strengthening development and community participation in frontier villages. The initiative is based on the government’s vision of recognising border villages as the “first villages” of the nation and encouraging their active participation in India’s development journey under the broader goal of building a Viksit Bharat.

The Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 was conducted in two phases between June 4 and June 30, covering 74 villages across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. More than 400 young participants representing different states and Union Territories were selected through a nationwide online quiz competition, which received participation from over three lakh youth across the country.

During the programme, participants stayed with local communities and gained firsthand experience of life in India’s border regions. They took part in several community-focused activities, including cleanliness campaigns, awareness drives on government schemes, Yuva Sammelans, cultural exchange programmes, tree plantation initiatives, Mini Model Panchayat simulations, interactions with local artisans and visits to strategically important institutions.

The PMO stated that the programme helped participants understand the socio-economic conditions, cultural heritage and development priorities of India’s frontier areas. The initiative also aimed to promote national integration, encourage youth involvement in community development and create greater awareness about the strategic importance of border villages. Through their experiences, participants were able to connect with local communities and understand the challenges and opportunities in these regions.

The upcoming interaction is expected to highlight the experiences shared by participants and reinforce the government’s focus on inclusive development and strengthening remote border communities. The Viksit Vibrant Village Programme is part of a larger effort to ensure that villages located along India’s frontiers become active contributors to the country’s economic, social and national development goals.
