PM Modi To Inaugurate GIDC Projects Worth ₹1,063 Crore Across Gujarat Industrial Zones

PM Modi to launch ₹1,063 crore GIDC projects in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) projects worth over ₹1,063 crore in Bharuch and Valsad districts on June 5, as part of a broader industrial development push in South Gujarat. The projects are aimed at strengthening industrial infrastructure, improving environmental management systems, and expanding pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing facilities in the region.

The initiatives form part of a larger development package valued at more than ₹18,777 crore, which will either be inaugurated or have foundation stones laid during the Prime Minister’s visit. In Bharuch district alone, projects worth over ₹894 crore will be launched, while Valsad district will see investments of around ₹169 crore under the GIDC framework.

Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation will see a key highlight in the form of a ₹474.61 crore effluent disposal project at the Dahej Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR). The project includes a large-scale 90 million litres per day (MLD) offshore and onshore pipeline system connecting industrial zones to disposal points, along with advanced civil and electro-mechanical infrastructure supported by automated control systems.

Officials said the Dahej PCPIR already hosts over 1,000 operational industrial units engaged in chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, dyes, intermediates, and engineering sectors. The new infrastructure is expected to significantly improve waste management and environmental compliance, while supporting continued industrial expansion in one of Gujarat’s key manufacturing hubs.

In Bharuch, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate infrastructure worth nearly ₹275 crore at the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar. This includes road networks, stormwater drainage systems, and a central drainage system designed to support pharmaceutical manufacturers and enhance industrial cluster development. Additional upgrades include pumping stations and drainage improvements across Dahej and Ankleshwar industrial estates to strengthen effluent management systems.

In Valsad district, two major projects at the Sarigam Industrial Estate will be inaugurated, including the expansion of a Common Effluent Treatment Plant from 15 MLD to 25 MLD and the development of an HDPE onshore and offshore effluent discharge pipeline system. These projects are designed to enhance wastewater treatment capacity and ensure environmentally compliant industrial growth. Together, the initiatives are expected to boost industrial efficiency while supporting sustainable development across South Gujarat’s key industrial corridors.
