PM Modi To Inaugurate Adichunchanagiri Memorial In Karnataka Today

PM Modi visits Karnataka to inaugurate memorial for seer and release devotional book with Deve Gowda.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Karnataka on Wednesday, where he will inaugurate the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira at Sri Kshetra Adichunchanagiri in Mandya district. The visit marks a significant ceremonial and cultural engagement in the state, with the Prime Minister also expected to address a public gathering during the event.

The memorial, dedicated to the revered seer Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji—the 71st pontiff of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math—is constructed in traditional Dravidian architectural style. It stands as a tribute to his life and teachings, which emphasized social service and inclusive development. The structure is envisioned as both a place of reverence and an inspiration for future generations.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will also jointly release a book titled “Saundarya Lahari and Shiva Mahimna Stotram” alongside former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda. The release is expected to be a key highlight of the visit, bringing together political and spiritual themes in a culturally significant setting.

According to official statements, Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji was widely respected for his contributions to education and healthcare, having established numerous institutions across Karnataka. His philosophy centred on the belief that service to society is the highest form of worship, a message that continues to influence followers across the region.

The Karnataka visit comes a day after the Prime Minister inaugurated the six-lane Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, a major infrastructure project aimed at reducing travel time between the two cities and improving regional connectivity. The corridor links key towns in Uttar Pradesh and integrates with several national highways and expressways, marking another step in the government’s infrastructure expansion push.
