PM Modi honours Indian contingents at Seychelles' Golden Jubilee parade.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured Indian Army and Navy contingents during Seychelles’ Golden Jubilee Independence Day parade held in Victoria, Mahé Island, Seychelles, as part of his three-day official visit to the island nation. The celebrations marked 50 years of Seychelles’ independence and highlighted growing bilateral engagement between India and Seychelles, along with wider discussions involving regional cooperation with Mauritius.

The Indian specialised contingents participated prominently in the grand parade held in the capital city. Personnel from the Assam Regiment of the Indian Army marched with ceremonial precision, drawing attention during the event. A key highlight of their participation was the performance of the regiment’s iconic song, “Badlu Ram Ka Badan”, which added a cultural and ceremonial dimension to the celebrations.

India’s naval participation also formed a significant part of the commemorations, with the deployment of frontline stealth frigate INS Tarkash and the indigenously built Survey Vessel Large INS Ikshak. Their presence underscored India’s maritime capability and its operational engagement in the Indian Ocean region, reflecting the importance of naval cooperation in regional security frameworks.
